I’ve been using the iPhone 11 Pro Max for just over 3 weeks now and the clear standout has been the new camera system. Over the last few years, it hasn’t been easy to convince regular users to upgrade to newer iPhone models, and I totally got it. This year, however, I believe that the iPhone 11 Pro/Max is worth upgrading to for the cameras alone.
“A transformative triple‑camera system that adds tons of capability without complexity.” – Apple
In this post, I’d like to provide a quick look at what you can expect from this new camera system. I was able to quickly capture an image using each of the 3 sensors to demonstrate how dynamic the system is. The camera system on the iPhone 11 Pro & Pro Max is made up of the following sensors:
- 12MP regular camera | 26mm f/1.8 | Optical image stabilization
- 12MP ultra-wide camera | 13mm f/2.4 | 120-degree field of view
- 12MP telephoto / portrait lens | 52mm f/2.0 | Optical image stabilization
These photos were captured very quickly, and have just some minor editing applied. I was able to easily get the exact edit I wanted because these cameras produce some of the most natural-looking shots which I always prefer.
Lately, a lot of people seem to focus on specs and megapixel counts when it comes to judging the capabilities of smartphone cameras. People need to realise that those factors aren’t solely what makes up a great camera. Apple has managed to deliver this amazing camera system by accompanying their excellent hardware with equally-excellent software that works seamlessly, hand-in-hand.
For me, the idea of having a camera on a smartphone is simply – to be able to take out your phone, snap a quick photo and get the best looking photo. There’s no other smartphone that does this better than the iPhone 11 Pro & 11 Pro Max.
You may have different opinions or have different preferences to mine and that’s totally fine, but for me, as someone who depends on a smartphone camera and has multiple options available, this is my pick.
This camera system is much more advanced and offers so much more – such as the new night mode, the new deep fusion feature and the excellent video offering. These will all be explored properly in a future campaign. I just wanted to provide a quick look at what you can expect from this amazing device.
